Laura's Kirtland's Warbler pictures

Russ and I found ourselves driving down I-75 on May 25, 2007, when it suddenly occurred to me that we'd be going right past Grayling, where field trips to see Kirtland's Warblers take place very day from May 15 into July. We were going to have to stop somewhere along the highway for the night, so why not Grayling? We stayed at the Days Inn, and I popped over to the Holiday Inn at 7 am to see if there was room for me on the tour. And the leader, Sean Fitzgerald, was someone familiar to me because he used to live in Wisconsin where he often posted on WisBirdNet. Since we were on our way to Ohio to bring a bunch of Katie's stuff home, car space was a premium, and this was entirely spur of the moment, so I didn't bring my spotting scope. Sean had an Eagle Optics Raven scope, which was reasonably good for viewing but not so much for digiscoping. So oh, dear--I guess I'll have to go back again one of these days!
