BY LAURA ERICKSON

The following photos were all taken on June 23. Again after watching for about 45 minutes, I saw evidence of only three babies. But for a long time I saw only one, and even when the second baby started walking around the box, it took many minutes before I saw the third poke its head up. The most active, largest baby has a green band on the left leg and a purple band on the right. I haven't seen any other babies perched on the edge giving me a view of the band yet. (On June 27, I learned that these band colors are identical on all Peregrines banded in the Midwest.)
