BY LAURA ERICKSON

June 13, 2006: 11:30 or so until about 12:30pm. on the roof with Kelly Boedigheimer. When we arrived, the female was at the nest. We saw at least two different nestlings. She preened a bit and looked about, then took off and lighted on the building with all the towers, then flew on. Kelly found the remains of one of their meals, a pigeon, and I noticed a couple of pigeons in the act of producing more peregrine food. (I was testing my new Sony DSC-H5 as a digiscoping camera, so took many photos through it, and many through my normal Canon SD500, both through my Zeiss Diascope. Some of the photos were with the 40x eyepiece, and most through the Zoom eyepiece.)

All the above photos taken with the Sony DSC-H5. The close ones were digiscoped through the Zeiss Diascope. Some of the photos were with the 40x eyepiece, and most through the Zoom eyepiece. In all cases, I was holding the camera up to the eyepiece. Notice the pigeons in the throes of whatever it is pigeons feel when they're producing new little pigeons (or do you say "peregrine food"?)

Above 11 images taken with the Canon photo, and except for the pigeon remains, all were taken through my scope using my trusty Nyquil measuring cup as an adaptor to hold the camera in place.
