Laura's Loggerhead Shrike pictures

Tampa Beach , FL, 2003; Sony DSC-F717
Santa Cruz Island, August 2005, Sony DSC-H1
December 10, 2005, The Nature Conservancy Disney Wilderness Preserve south of Orlando, FL. This bird was near the buildings, and was apparently used to people walking by. I watched it fly into the densest part of the tree with something--an insect?--and either feed or tuck it away. Then it flew into a bit more of an open area of the tree where it sat and preened and just looked about for over 20 minutes while I took literally hundreds of photos. Then it moved to the top of the tree for a minute or so and then flew off. These 5 photos taken with the Sony DSC-H1.
These 11 photos of the same bird were digiscoped using Nikon CoolPix P1 and Nikon 82mm straight Field Scope.
These 4 taken in Arkansas, January, 2006
These 5 photos taken at Merritt Island NWR November 3, 2006. Top 3 taken with Sony DSC-H5, two on either side digiscoped with Canon SD-500 and Zeiss 85 mm Diascope
